Is a self-emptying dock worth it with pets?

Self-emptying docks add £150 to £400 to the price. Docks hold the equivalent of 30 to 60 robot bin-loads ("up to 60 days"), but that assumes fine dust: with a shedding dog or cat, expect to empty or change the dock bag every two to four weeks.

Yes. With 20,000Pa of suction it has more than enough power for UK carpets and rugs. The mopping is where it stands out, though, so if your home is almost entirely carpeted you'd get better value from a cheaper vacuum-first robot.

How much maintenance does the Omni S2 need?

Much less than most robots, because the dock empties the dust bin, washes the mop in hot water and dries it. You'll still need to empty the dirty-water tank, refill the clean-water tank, replace the dust bags and clean the brush every so often.

Does it have a camera?

Is 35,000Pa suction overkill?

For most homes, yes – you'll rarely need the maximum setting. Where it can help is on thick rugs and in homes with a lot of pet hair. If most of your floor is hard, you'll get very similar results from a cheaper robot.

Does the dock wash and dry the mop?
