Key features

  • 300W, 36 heated aluminium bars
  • 20m of drying space
  • 3 tiers, collapsible aluminium frame
  • 30kg maximum load
  • Compatible with Beldray heated pod cover (sold separately)

Our verdict

Beldray's 3-tier is the cheapest way into a full-size 300W heated airer. The specification is competitive on the numbers that matter - 36 heated aluminium bars, 20 metres of drying space and a 30kg load limit, which is higher than the Dry:Soon and Black+Decker. There is no cover and no timer, and the frame is lighter-gauge than the premium models, so it flexes a little when loaded unevenly. If you are drying two or three loads a week and have somewhere ventilated to put it, that is an acceptable trade for the price. Running cost is the same 300W story: about 47p for a six-hour session at 26.32p per kWh. Beldray also sell a separate 1000W heated pod cover that fits most 3-tier airers if you later want faster drying - but note that it is a far higher-wattage accessory, so check the maths before assuming it is cheaper to run.

Pros

  • ✓Lowest price for a full-size 300W 3-tier airer
  • ✓High 30kg load limit
  • ✓Lightweight and easy to move
  • ✓Optional pod cover available later

Cons

  • ✗No cover or timer included
  • ✗Frame feels lighter than premium rivals
  • ✗The 1000W pod accessory costs far more to run than the airer itself
