My Experience with the BRITA YOURCE Water Dispenser
This section is my personal experience as an owner. It is separate from the research-led verdict and score above, which it does not change.
My own photos of my BRITA YOURCE in our kitchen

Introduction
The BRITA YOURCE is a countertop water dispenser with a built-in BRITA filter. You fill the tank with tap water and it gives you filtered water at room temperature or hot, up to around 95°C. I own one, and our family has used it at home every day, so this review is based on my own experience rather than a spec sheet.
My experience using it
Our family uses the dispenser throughout the day, and it has become a really useful addition to our kitchen. We mostly use it for making hot drinks, and it is very easy to use. You put your cup under the spout, choose what you want and it dispenses. There is no waiting for a kettle to boil.
The cold filtered water tastes excellent. My main criticism is that it isn’t as cold as I would ideally like. The model I use doesn’t have a dedicated chilling function, so the “cold” water is really filtered water at room temperature. That is how this model is designed, so it is not a fault, but it is worth knowing if you like ice-cold water straight from the dispenser.
The hot water reaches about 95°C, which is perfect for tea and other hot drinks. I have found it a little tricky to dissolve things like gravy granules, though, so it isn’t necessarily ideal for every kitchen task.
What I like
- ✓Very easy to use, even first thing in the morning.
- ✓Great-tasting filtered water.
- ✓Hot water at about 95°C on demand, perfect for tea and other hot drinks.
- ✓Really useful in a busy family kitchen, where it gets used all day.
What could be better
- ✗No dedicated chilling function on the model I use.
- ✗The cold water is not as cold as I personally prefer.
- ✗I find gravy granules and similar ingredients a little tricky to dissolve.
Everyday running and maintenance
The dispenser has a 4-litre tank. With our family using it throughout the day, I usually refill it about twice a day, and I change the filter about once a month. Your refills and filter changes will depend on how much your household uses it, so follow the filter reminder and BRITA’s instructions.
My verdict
Overall, I think it’s a great addition to the kitchen. It’s convenient, simple to use and gives us great-tasting filtered water throughout the day. It has no chilling function, and I find it harder to dissolve some ingredients with it, but it has become something we use regularly. If you want properly chilled water as well, look at a model with a cooling function, such as the BRITA YOURCE Cool.
