If you need to cool a large living room, open-plan kitchen or home office above 30m², the Meaco Pro 16000 is the most powerful portable unit we’ve tested. Its 4.7kW cooling output tackles big spaces that lower-BTU models simply can’t handle. It doubles as a heater in winter (11,200 BTU heating), which goes some way to justifying the higher price. App connectivity and a 24-hour timer add convenience, and the build quality is as solid as you’d expect from Meaco. The downside is noise — at full power it’s around 53 dB, which is fine for a living room but too much for a bedroom. It’s also the most power-hungry unit here at 1,712W.
