Our verdict
The DD8L Zambezi is Meaco's best-selling desiccant model and one of the most trusted dehumidifiers in the UK. It extracts up to 8L per day and works in temperatures as low as 1°C, making it suitable for caravans, boats, garages and conservatories as well as normal living spaces. The digital display shows real-time humidity and temperature — a feature you rarely see at this price — and the Daily Run timer lets you set it to operate for a fixed number of hours each day. The sterilising ioniser adds a genuine air quality benefit. At 7.8kg it's easy to move between rooms. The main competitor is the EcoAir DD3 Classic, which extracts more (11L vs 8L) but costs more. For homes up to 5 bedrooms the Zambezi is plenty, and Meaco's build quality and support are excellent.

Cons
- ✗Lower extraction (8L) than the EcoAir DD3 (11L)
- ✗600W power consumption — desiccant standard
- ✗Smaller 3L tank needs more frequent emptying
- ✗No Wi-Fi or app control
